Chapin, Betty J.
Born 11/9/1928, Died 7/12/2012

Betty Jean Chapin, 83, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at her home in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Betty Jean Toshner in Fond du Lac on November 9th, 1928 to Martin Toshner and Elsie Weigert Toshner, and graduated from Fond du Lac Senior High School in 1946.

Betty married Ken Chapin on June 15th, 1952 at St Joseph's Church in Waukesha, Wi.

All through her life, Betty had a love of music, and possessed an exceptional singing voice. From high school singing groups to big bands to jazz trios, Betty entertained audiences from the Midwest to the Southern United States.

Survivors include her beloved husband Ken, her sons Scott (Susan) of Green Bay, WI, Jim (Becky) of Waco, TX; four grandchildren, Brent, Blair, Elizabeth and Jayme Chapin; two brothers, Darrel and Arthur Toshner; one sister, Beverly Meinke; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and by her sister Gladys Schneider.

Betty was a faithful member of Holy Family Parish in Fond du Lac, a longtime member of St Louis Parish, and had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Visitation: Her family will receive relatives and friends at Holy Family Parish Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac, on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM.

Services: A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish Church at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Cremation has taken place and burial will be in Estabrooks Cemetery.

Memorials in Betty's name may be directed to Agnesian Hospice Hope Program, 430 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
