Burnett, Richard H.
Born 1/9/1948, Died 1/14/2008

 

Richard H. (Dick) Burnett, 60, of 1013 Briarwood Lane, Fond du Lac, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2008 at St. Agnes Hospital, after a lengthy battle with chronic lung disease. 

He was born on January 9, 1948 in Fond du Lac, a son of Howard and Jeanette Mohr Burnett.  On March 9, 1968 Dick married Mary Beth Sonnentag at St. Joseph Church in Fond du Lac.

Dick was a 1966 graduate of L. P. Goodrich High School.  He was employed with Fresh Brands Inc. for thirty-five years, retiring in June, 2003.  After retirement he worked part time for the Wisconsin Grocers Association. 

He was a member of Holy Family Parish.  Dick was a long time member of Fond de Vettes, Ltd, Corvette Club, serving as its president for many years.  He was on the Board of Directors for the Fond du Lac County Volunteer Center. 

Dick is survived by Mary Beth, his wife for almost forty years; two children, Cheryl (Brian) Clemetson of West Bend and Daniel (Denise) Burnett of Waukesha; five grandchildren, Kendal, Brad and Jake Clemetson, Karsen and Karisa Burnett; one brother, Gary (Sandy) Burnett of Texas; sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents.

Visitation:  The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at the Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac, from 4:00 until 7:30 P. M., and on Friday at the funeral home, from 9:00 A.M. until 10:15 A.M.

Services:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac, on Friday, January 18, 2008 at 11:00 A.M.  Entombment will follow the Mass at the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. 

A Memorial in his name will be established.
