Edwin Jacob Schneider, 93, of Pipe passed away Friday February 27, 2009 at his home.
He was born December 5, 1915 in Mt. Calvary a son to the late Joseph and Rosa Kraus Schneider.
Edwin served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1946.
January 4, 1944 he married Leona Karls at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg.
Edwin worked in construction his whole life. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and the Holy Name Society, Calumet Fire Department for 26 years and the We Love to Dance Club.
Survivors include his wife Leona of 65 years, 2 daughters: Shirley Ann (Kenneth) Feyen of St. Peter and Virginia (Gordon) Haensgen of Johnsburg; 1 son James R. Schneider of Fond du Lac; 9 grandchildren: Tracy (Chris) Hettenhaus, Brian (Terri) Feyen, Jeff Feyen, Ron Feyen, Scott (Amy) Feyen, Glenn (Vicki) Haensgen, Gregg (Megan) Haensgenn, Gail (Fiance` Shane Rabe) Haensgen, and Gina (Michael) Popp; 8 great grandchildren: Abby, Catrina and Brooke Hettenhaus and Gabrielle, Michaela, Brett, Gracie, and Cooper Haensgen; 4 sisters: Mildred (Orville) Haensgen , Edna Hochrein, Lorraine (Alex) Ebertz, and Erna Halbach; 2 brothers: Ralph (Marion) Schneider and Ottie (Rosie) Schneider and brothers and sisters in law: Margie Schneider, Francine (Tony) Schmitz, Florence Mand, Roger (Lyla) Karls, Vangie Karls, and Esther Karls.
He is preceded in death by 4 brothers: Clarence (Irene) Schneider (his twin brother), Walter (Bernice) Schneider, Claude Schneider, and Harvey Schneider; his grandson Joey Feyen and brothers and sisters in law: Viola (Alois) Forstner, Ludwina (Walter) Mueller, Clara (Francis) Dreifuerst, Ben(Delores) Karls, Clem Karls, Angeline Karls (at birth), Albert Mand, Clarence Stephany, James Halbach, and Cletus Hochrein.
Visitation for Edwin will be held on Sunday March 1, 2009, 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Zacherl Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday March 2, 2009, 11:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg, N9288 County Highway W. Fr. Joseph Coerber will preside. Entombment will be in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Cemetery.
The family extends a special thank you to Agnesian Hospice, Dr. Strong, Dr. Lundburg, and Fr. Joe for their loving care and compassion at this very difficult time.
