James “Jim” H. Kuter, 59, of Silver Lake, WI, died unexpectedly on February 19, 2010.

He was born January 29, 1951 in Fond du Lac, a son of David M. and Rose M. Fitzwilliams Kuter.

Jim attended L.P. Goodrich High School and was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He worked for Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac for several years and then was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad in Chicago for over 27 years as a structural engineer and supervisor. In his spare time, Jim loved boating, fishing, reading and was an avid golfer. He took pride and pleasure in working on many home projects, and could fix anything. Over the years, he enjoyed spoiling his several cats and dogs.

Survivors include the love of his life, Maureen Brickle, of Silver Lake, his beloved mother, Rose M. Kuter, of Fond du Lac, his brother, David (Irene) J. Kuter of Reading MA, his sister, Barbara (Paul Koser) J. Kuter of Collegeville, PA, his nephew and niece, Ben and Emily Kuter, of Reading MA, and three cousins, Anita Trone of Fernley, NV, Janette Van de Mark of Carl Junction, MO and Debra Fenno of Fond du Lac.

He was preceded in death by his father David M. Kuter in 1999.

Visitation: Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 24, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Zacherl Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM.

Services: Funeral services will be held Thursday 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Rev. Michael Morning will officiate. Burial will be in the Rienzi Cemetery.

Memorials in his name may be directed to the American Heart Association or the Fond du Lac Humane Society, 1155 S Military Rd., Fond du Lac, WI 54937.
