Obituary for Kenneth J. Fisher

Kenneth John Fisher, beloved husband and father, died on Saturday, November 17 at the age of 89 at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born on December 2, 1928 of Isabel and Fred Fisher. He had three sisters and one brother, two sisters of whom preceded him in death:  Grace (Roy) Marcoe, Geraldine (Nick) Poepping and one brother-in-law, Eugene Osborn and is survived by one sister, Alice Osborn and one brother, Roger (Gina) Fisher.

Ken married Beverly Hansen on November 12, 1949 and had two daughters, Mary (Ron) Bohlman and Patty (Paul) Hayes.

At the age of 17, he started working for Kiekhaefer Aeromarine, testing boat motors. He thrived at that employment in helping develop new motor parts for the foundling company. Later in his life, he switched careers and joined as a business partner at Les Toll TV of Fond du Lac.

Ken loved sailing, canoeing, bicycling, skiing and especially flying. He was active in leadership in the Fond du Lac Flying club and The Audubon Society. He always had a knack for repairing anything mechanical, and nearing the end of his life, when his physical health was failing, he fixed elaborate cuckoo and grandfather style clocks for repurposing by St. Vincent de Paul.

Ken and Bev were extremely generous in taking their entire extended family on numerous memorable vacations and cruises to various locations in the Caribbean and Mexico, which all family members look back upon with extreme fondness, holding great memories for all.

He is survived by his wife, his two daughters and their husbands and five grandchildren--Chris (Rachel) Bohlman, Michael (Kimberly) Bohlman, Rebecca (Austin) Batalden, Benjamin (Jamie) Posthuma and Jason (Lorraine) Posthuma.  Ken had nine great grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

Services: Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 200 S. Peters Avenue, on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 9:30 until 11:15am.  The funeral mass will be held at 11:30 am with Father Guy Gurath officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.

We are grateful to all the caregivers and medical personnel at St. Agnes Hospital and at Hospice Home of Hope, who so lovingly and compassionately helped him enter into eternal life.
